As a member of the University of Toronto, you are one of over 75,000 undergraduate students. Although size of the campus can be daunting, it comes with great benefits. As a member of the University of Toronto, you have access to countless services and organizations and if you can’t find one that interests you, start one, we have the resources available to support you. Don’t be overwhelmed but the number of options available to you because we will be sure to keep you updated on important news and events happening on campus!
Being a member of U of T at the St. George Campus puts your right in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada’s largest city. Toronto has endless social and cultural opportunities that will always give you something to do. Be sure to take advantage of your time at U of T by exploring one of North America’s most culturally diverse and exciting cities.
On Campus
Hart House is a living laboratory of social, artistic, cultural and recreational experiences where all voices, rhythms and traditions converge. Hart House has a swimming pool, running track, gym, a full theatre, clubs and committees of all stripes and frequent events.
Ulife is a sophisticated one-stop website listing a large and diverse collection of student clubs, organizations, activities and opportunities on all three campuses. The thousands of entries include film appreciation clubs, debating societies, sports teams, social activism, drop-in classes, and research opportunities and awards.
The University’s Events Calendar contains listings from various departments and groups around campus. It can be hard to navigate, but contains some gems!
In Toronto
As time passes, most students find their own communities in Toronto. The following is a list of good places to start looking for event listings and Toronto-related content.
BlogTO is a web site about Toronto written by a group of obsessed artists, musicians, photographers, politicos, advertising and media types, dancers, tech geeks, food lovers, aspiring film directors, fashionistas and people for the ethical treatment of animals.
Their event calendar and their blog are both excellent resources for Torontonians.
Torontoist‘s scope encompasses absolutely everything interesting related to Toronto, including news, arts, events, culture, transit, politics, photography, public spaces, food, and a whole lot more. Our goal is to capture the tenor and texture of life in the city, to evoke the daily experience of the city in words and images. We try always to be faithful in our rendering of Toronto, and to be fearless in advocating for what we think might make it better.
The City of Toronto’s Events page includes things like festivals, hockey games, charity fundraisers, and much more. The listings are arranged by location, date and price.
Toronto.com offers comprehensive event listings, restaurants, movies, business listings and entertainment related information, as well as unique, expert editorial content on Toronto.

Student Initiative Fund offers as much as $5000 for projects that benefit students on the St. George Campus!
Every year our students have great ideas for events and projects to enhance the student experience. A new fund has been created to encourage and support these activities. The Student Initiative Fund (SIF) offers financial support to projects that enhance the student experience and foster a sense of community at the University of Toronto.
In order to be eligible for funding, projects should:
- contribute positively to the University of Toronto student experience
- reach a broad student community
- add value to the University of Toronto community
- broadly align with the University of Toronto’s mission, vision and values as outlined in the University’s Statement of Institutional Purpose

Renovated Cafés Now Open!

UofT students are now able to try out two newly renovated dining locations on campus.
- Second Cup Rotman – A newly renovated Second Cup location is now open at Rotman School of Management (in the North building). Stop by for some coffee, baked goods, and quick meals.

UTSU Great Barrier Hunt Event

How do we make campus fully accessible? Join us for the Barrier Hunt on campus!
After meeting at Hart House, Dave Lepofsky will present and then, in teams of 4-5, students will be given a Great Barrier Hunt map, and a list with questions and illustrations about particular accessible features in both Hart House and Innis College. Teams will “Hunt” each building in rotating shifts so as not to disturb classrooms in session.
Students can enjoy snacks, get to know one another and play trivia games for prizes!
This event will hopefully help to raise awareness amongst students and faculty about barriers to accessibility on campus. Although it is meant to be fun and interactive, this event can also help to shed light on ways that U of T St. George campus can better meet AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) standards by 2025.

We’re a group of about 20 people who love to sing and we’re looking for new members. We have rehearsals once or twice a week, trying different genres ranging from musicals to traditional choral pieces. We are a non-auditioned choir, and although our season officially starts in SEPTEMBER, there are still practices during the summer for those who are interested.
