Orientation
U of T is the largest institution in Canada, and having some familiar people around you can ease your transition into university life. Your Innis College Student Society (ICSS) Orientation Coordinators put in countless hours to ensure that your first week here is a memorable one.
During Orientation Week (aka “Frosh”), first-year Innis students learn about their college, campus, and city. Past events included a campus-wide scavenger hunt, inter-college competitions, a University-wide parade around Downtown Toronto, a formal dinner, a casino night, an overnight trip to Hart House Farm, seminars with Donald Boere (our Assistant Principal & Registrar) and upper-year students, guest speakers and networking opportunities from both within and outside the college and a club night.
First-year students at Innis College are automatically registered for Frosh, and charged through ROSI (along with your other student fees). The registration is an opt-out process, and details on opting-out will be available soon.
Are you a commuter? Fret not! The Innis Residence billets about 60 non-resident students during Frosh Week so that they don’t need to travel long distances every morning and evening. 2011 details TBA.

Your TCard and U of T Email Account
As a first -year student, there are TWO things you MUST do RIGHT NOW! Get your University of Toronto Photo ID “T -Card” and set up your University of Toronto E-mail account.
To get your TCard, take your admission letter along with another piece of photo ID to the Robarts Library. Once you have your TCard, you can then set up your U of T email account.
When you’ve done all that: Go into your ROSI account and change your existing OLD E- MAIL address on ROSI to your NEW UTORONTO.CA E- MAIL address. Once classes begin, the University will only be communicating with you through this official U of T email address, so make sure you check it regularly.
The St. George campus TCard Office is located in the north lobby, Room 2054A, 2nd floor, Robarts Library.

Frosh Week!
We trust that your summer is going well and you’re pumped for the start of your adventure at Innis College at the University of Toronto. We are looking forward to meeting all of you during Frosh Week!
We have been planning all summer to make sure your Frosh Orientation Week is informative and fun-filled! Frosh Week is a great time to make new friends, meet our upper-year mentors and student leaders, figure out the spaces that you will be using for the next few years, and learn about your University.
The week runs from SEPTEMBER 3RD to SEPTEMBER 7TH…don’t worry, classes don’t begin until the following week on SEPTEMBER 10TH! We have a huge number of orientation activities being held every day, with participation from the Registrar and the Office Student Life. Evening events include a boat cruise, dinner with the Principal and Dean of Students, casino night, Blue Jays Game, and program-specific mentorship activities.
The greatest part of it all is it’s simple and free to register! To register, go to www.innisicss.com and fill out the 2-minute registration form (here is a direct link in case the website is not working). We need to know your shirt size, dietary food restrictions, or if you have any accessibility needs, so that we may plan for the week.
Can’t attend Frosh Week? If you are travelling from out-of-the-province or you’re an international student and unable to make it to Frosh Week starting SEPTEMBER 3RD, you must email us immediately with your name and email address to info@innisicss.com to let us know you’re not attending. The deadline to let us know is FRIDAY, AUGUST 10TH, 2012.
The cost of Frosh Week is automatically covered by a student’s incidental fees, but you are eligible to “Opt-Out” by FRIDAY, AUGUST 10TH and receive a $100 refund ONLY if you notify the ICSS by email.
Billeting for commuter students is available at the Innis Residence during Frosh Week, but space is limited to a first-come, first-served basis. Let us know on the registration form as soon as possible if you would like to take advantage of this.
For further information feel free to contact us at any time at frosh@innisicss.com.
