Tutu Design Open-Call

In celebration of The National Ballet of Canada's 60th Anniversary, they are creating an installation of 60 tutus to be on display at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in June of 2012.
The National Ballet is inviting students and faculty from Innis College to apply to an open-call for submissions. The call is not restricted to any particular artistic discipline, so long as the individual presents a unique and complete concept that is relevant to the installation their application will be accepted for review.
Successful applicants will receive a supply grant of $350.

Doors Open Toronto![]() May 28 & 29, 2011 City of Toronto is proud to present the annual Doors Open Toronto – one weekend, once a year – when close to 150 buildings of architectural, historic, cultural and social significance open their doors to the public for a city-wide celebration. The program allows visitors free access to properties that are either not usually open to the public, or would normally charge an entrance fee. BIXI BIXI Toronto is a public bike system—BIXI is short for Bike Taxi. It’s the bike that’s really an alternative means of urban transport. The system is accessible to everyone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 12 months a year. If you’re taking a trip in downtown Toronto, grab a bike near your origin, and leave it at a station near your destination. The first 30min of each trip is free (with a yearly/monthly membership, or a daily fee). Finding the Words Book Launch The Innis College Alumni Network and the Department of English presents: Finding the WordsBook launch. In finding the words, thirty-one well-known writers share deeply personal discoveries and stories that will surprise, delight, and stir the mind and heart. Special guests include: With professor Nick Mount as MC. Reception will follow. Proceeds from the sale of finding the words will go to event partner Pen Canada in support of its vital work in defence of freedom of expression. |

| Work Study Position: Innis College Alumni Office Program Coordinator The Alumni Office Program Coordinator will help develop 2011/2012 programming for graduating students and young alumni, and will help with the Office’s marketing and communications (newsletter, enewsletter, website, social media tools). The Program Coordinator will also help organize alumni events, and will assist with the Office’s fundraising portfolio. Work Study Position: This summer work-study position will focus on assisting and supporting the completion of several special projects for the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students. Under the direction of staff in the office, the special projects assistant will provide support, including research and administrative duties, for planned summer projects, which may include developing a space inventory for a St. George Campus student-activity space as well as communications and training materials for student organizations, among other activities. Students interested in this position will need strong written and oral communications skills, good organizational abilities, a basic knowledge of St. George campus geography, be a self-starter and comfortable with basic Information Technology (MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel), posses project and time management skills and enjoy working in a group environment as well as on individual activities.
